Hello Everyone

John and I are hoping that you are all well and happy and still getting out there enjoying live music.  We have been finding our feet after the close of the Club and have been getting out playing and exploring all the clubs and open mics around. Interesting stuff.

 The Martin Simpson concert at Priddy Village Hall was a resounding success and meant that The Old Down Acoustic Club had a brilliant ending, one to remember. Martin was of course brilliant, as one would expect, you don't get nominated for five BBC Radio 2 folk awards for nothing!

 Our support for the night was the lovely Tristan Seume, a favourite of the club having already performed two "Wednesday Specials" in the past. He charmed his audience with his stunning guitar skills and was the perfect "warm up" for Martin.

So thanks to all those that attended and made the night so special.

 Although we have still made no definite plans, we will keep you all informed of any developments or, indeed, any events that we might organise in the future via this news letter and the Old Down website.

In an effort to make these news letters a little more useful now that we have nothing happening on the music front ourselves, and I'm not sure how often we'll send them out yet , we would like to add a short "What's on" section. We have always stated that we will not send out anything other than club business to this mailing list, so this section will only include events that we deem to be associated in some way, either special events organised by friends of the club, concerts by past performers or for worthwhile causes.

WHAT'S ON

Our very own Sheila Chandra is playing at St Georges on Saturday 19th April. 

Sheila and the Club have enjoyed a very close relationship since and indeed before her come back so we are delighted to include this item.

As Sheila supported The Old Down Acoustic Club John and I think it would be great if as many club supporters as possible could come along and support her on this special night. We shall be there and looking out for all our friends.
